Blue Point

This project addresses a basic daily human need that is often overlooked in terms of accessibility and design. Blue Point is a modular public toilet conceived to be fully accessible, user-friendly, and designed at a human scale. Unlike many public toilets that prioritize efficiency over experience, Blue Point is intended for every scale of user. The module has a simple, robust structure that can be prefabricated and easily transported due to its compact size. Its façade is made of pre-dented blue perforated aluminium panels, chosen to resist vandalism and allow easy cleaning. The strong royal blue exterior stands out in the urban landscape, acting as a recognizable landmark in the city. Inside, the atmosphere contrasts with a warm red interior that creates a sense of comfort and safety. Rounded corners and a seamless aluminium interior improve hygiene and reduce claustrophobia. Functional elements such as the sink and toilet are fully integrated into the interior. A grit floor system allows waste and water to drain away efficiently, supported by a multifunctional tap for cleaning. The layout is based on minimum spatial requirements while allowing wheelchair users to turn easily and accommodating parents, children, and pets. Technical elements are hidden in a double wall accessible from outside, enabling efficient maintenance. Additional facade walls, planters, a green roof, and diffused natural and artificial lighting further enhance privacy, sustainability, and adaptability
