Our urban strategy seeks to keep the closed block and reactivate the courtyard as a whole by bringing back together its two sides and promoting a sense of community.
As it is a very large courtyard we tried to differentiate the spaces. Therefore we came up with an arrangement of non directional building volumes which create a hierarchy of different spaces and qualities. Every building has its own character and develops differently towards the upper levels.
Various types of floor plans offer living space for contemporary family structures, groups and also individuals. Especially the ground level spaces are intended to react to adjacent spatial situations outside to connect the buildings with its surroundings.
The inner organisation offers contrasting levels of openness to accentuate differing levels of privacy.
Our facade concept presents our building as siblings which share different qualities but still have their own identity.
